a. When a researcher requests photocopies of Library
material, Library staff shall, before any payment is made
by the researcher, ensure that the material is in a proper
condition to be photocopied. This regulation does not entitle
any researcher to obtain photocopies of Library material
which is not in a proper condition to be photocopied even
if he/she has already effected payment.
b. The Library
does not permit photocopying of:
i. Pre-1850 material.
ii. Bulky material.
iii. Material larger than A3 open.
iv. Material with fine binding, pullouts larger than cover
pages or with torn, brittle, loose or missing pages, broken
sewing, tightly bound and deteriorating covers.
v. Manuscripts, rare books and newspapers.
vi. Any other material which, in the opinion of the Director,
it is not proper to photocopy.
c. The Library may restrict
photocopying to no more than 10% of any material for reasons
of preservation of same
material.
d. The items mentioned in point (b) may be scanned or
photographed, depending on the size.
e. No order for photocopies or scans is executed unless
paid for in advance. Orders may be placed and paid
for between 08:15 hrs and 12:00 hrs between 16th June and
30th September and additionally from 13:30 hrs to 16:00
hrs between 1st October and 15th June.
f. The fee for photocopies and scanning
at the Library is of €0.23 in respect of each A4
size page and €0.35 in respect of each A3 size page.
